Social Media Strategy

Step one – Define your business goals.

To gauge how successful your social media strategy has been, you will need to identify several specific goals to evaluate your progress. It is important to note that these goals should follow the SMART (Specific, Measurable. Attainable, Relevant & Time-bound) framework. These goals should align with your marketing objectives and will help you track your businesses’ progress.

Step two – Identify your target audience.

It is essential that you know who your target audience is, how they behave on social media and what platforms to find them on. By gathering data such as location, gender, age, education, interests, or profession you will be able to understand your audience much better. With this information you will be able to customise your content according to their needs and interests. For example, Tik Tok as a platform has quite a young userbase, whereas Facebook has an older audience, as of March 2022, 24.2 percent of Facebook users in Ireland were aged 25 to 34 according to statista.

Step three – Review your competitors.

Take a deep dive into what your competitors are doing, what platforms are they on? How many followers do they have? Do they post regularly? How many likes do they receive? In what way do they interact with their customers? What type of content do they post? Do they use hashtags?

If you review how your competitors use social media you can learn from them, improve on what they do and develop something unique that will allow you to stand out from them.

Step four – Conduct a social media audit.

Conducting a social media audit involves carrying out an analysis of all your social media accounts and comparing it with that of your competitors. If you have never conducted an audit on any social media platforms it is not too late to do so! Get in touch with us today to see if we can help!
